We do not need to wait to be led in order to lead. Organizations and communities need people who will lead and influence others even if it is only in certain situations. \n\n\n\nDo you find you are letting your lack of authority paralyze you? Great leaders at all levels learn to unleash their influence wherever they are. Find out how you can grow your influence—and start making a difference—right where you are. \n\n\n\nDrawing heavily from Clay Scroggin’s excellent text\, “How to Lead When You’re Not in Charge: Leveraging Influence When You Lack Authority\,” participants will – through a highly interactive session – learn: \n\n\n\n\nHow to lead even if you are not formally in charge.\n\nKey best practices and principles of leadership.\nHow to rally a team to great visions and goals.\nHow to interact and get the most out of team members even if they are peers.\nHow to get support from others such as management and executive sponsors.\nNext steps and how to put what you have learned into action.\n\n\n\n\n\nJulie E. Turner\, Ph.D. \nDr. Julie Turner earned her Doctorate of Philosophy in Education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis\, her MA in Adult and Continuing Education at Michigan State University\, and her BA in Sociology and Religion at Hope College in Holland\, Michigan. Dr. Turner has over twenty years of experience in education and nonprofit leadership. Dr. Turner is a Professor and Department Chair of Nonprofit Administration at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at Lindenwood University in St. Charles\, Missouri.
